Born on September 14, 1969, in Daegu, he was the youngest of two sons and two daughters. His father is Bong Sang-gyun, a first-generation graphic designer who served as a professor of art at Yeungnam University and served as head of the art department at the National Film Festival, and his mother is Park So-young, the second daughter of novelist Park Tae-won. Her older brother, Bong Joon-soo, is an English professor at Seoul National University and her older sister, Bong Ji-hee, is a fashion designer and a director of the International Culture Association. His wife is Jung Sun-young and his son is film director Bong Hyo-min.

According to an interview by his sister (Pong Ji-hee), Bong Jun-ho as a child was "quiet, reticent, slow, extremely good at studying, with leadership, but not particularly talented or splashing." In his father's study, he grew up reading various books, such as movies, architecture and design-related import books, which were not on the market, and Bong Joon-ho is said to have liked all kinds of paintings, literature and music since he was young. And when Bong Joon-ho became a movie director, his parents encouraged him to do whatever he wanted without opposing it.

I went to Seoul from Daegu when I was a third grader in elementary school. When I lived in Daegu, I watched 'Robot Taekwon V' at the Academy Theater. He also said that he feels new because he will be showing his movies at the Mangyeonggwan in Daegu when he was young. In Seoul, he said, "I think of the International Theater, Scara, and Myungbo Theater. Bong Joon-ho, who spent his middle and high school days in Jamsil, dreaming of becoming a movie director, and went on to enter the sociology department of Yonsei University in his 88th year, said he learned that he could become a movie director without having to graduate from the film department.

Bong Joon-ho, who created a film club called "Yellow Moon" in Yonsei University after completing his military service, directed his first short film, "White Man (1993)," with a 16mm film. He later entered the Korean Academy of Film Arts in 11 terms, and directed 16mm short films "Memory in Frame (1994)" and "Jiri Parade (1994). Bong Joon-ho, a graduate of the Korean Academy of Film Arts, had a career in Chungmu-ro by 1999 with supporting roles and screenplays. Bong Joon-ho, who was noticed by Cha Seung-jae, the former CEO of Uno Film, made his feature film debut earlier than others with  <The Dog of Planders (2000)). Bong Joon-ho is in danger of failing to make it to the public, but Cha Seung-jae, who believed in Bong Joon-ho’s talent, gave him another chance, and the movie was directed at that time. The film's box office success has made Bong popular. Later in 2006, he will draw 13 million viewers to join the ranks of Korea’s leading directors.

The historic water race begins with the winner of the Palme d’Or at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival in 2019 for the first time in the 100-year history of Korean cinema. See the parasite (movie)/water document

The parasite has reached 10 million viewers and 100 million dollars. The following is the full text of how you feel about winning the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
Bong Joon-ho, "I'm so sorry. I wasn't prepared to speak French, but I was always inspired by French movies. Thank you both for being so inspired by me from my childhood, Henri Georges Grizzo and Claude Shabrol. The movie Gisaeng was a huge cinematic adventure. I wanted to make a unique and new movie. And what made it possible was because there were so many artists with me. Director Hong Kyung-pyo. Lee Ah-joon, Choi Se-yeon and Kim Seo-young. Thank you to all the artists. And I'm very grateful to the Baronson (producer) and CJ (distributor) families for their support so many artists can show their skills. But most of all, Gisaeng couldn’t have done a single scene without the great actors. Thank you to the actors who were with us. And I really want to hear the words of Song Kang-ho, the greatest actor and my companion who was here.
Song Kang-ho said, "As an actor, I offer this honor to all the respected actors of Korea who taught me patience, wisdom and passion. Thank you."
Bong Joon-ho said, "My family is on the second floor, and I can't find it anywhere. I'm grateful to my family I was just a timid and silly movie buff who decided to become a movie director at the age of 12. I never thought I'd be able to touch this trophy like this way. Thank you.

He later won the Foreign Language Film Award at the Golden Globe Awards in January 2020, and joined 10 actors from the U.S. Actor's Union Award In early February, she won a screenplay award with Han Jin-won at the British Academy Film Awards and a foreign language film award for her work.

As expected at the 92nd Academy Awards (OSCARS) held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on February 9, 2020, she won the best picture award, and even the best director award, which she thought would be somewhat difficult. In particular, the director's category was more meaningful as it won the award, beating Sam Mendes of 1917. He also won the much-anticipated award for best picture, setting a huge record of winning four out of six categories. It is the first time in the Academy's 92-year history that a foreign language film has won a prize. So far, many foreign language film award works have challenged the work and have suffered again, but the parasite has completely broken its limits and is at the center of a new history.

The new post-parasite book said there was one Korean movie and one Hollywood movie. The Korean film is said to be vague in genre but can be considered a horror, a "horror action" and disaster that takes place in Seoul, and envisioned for 18 years from 2001. The Hollywood film said the real incident in Britain in 2016 was the motif. Both films are said to be about the same size as parasites. And I want to shoot historical dramas and melodies someday."
