Memories of Murder : A Korean film which is a real-life story based on a serial murder case on Hwaseong.

A Korean film released in 2003. It is the second film directed by Bong Joon-ho, which is a real-life story based on a serial murder case on Hwaseong.

While it is interesting to track down the criminal, Bong Joon-ho's movie focuses more on the society surrounding him than whether he is arrested. Overseas, where there is little information on the Martian serial killings, is not familiar with the "thriller who is not caught until the end," and many people are surprised or despondent after watching the movie.

At that time, police officers relied on a former-modern and fisticated investigation, often stopping suspects and beating them until they were told what they wanted. There was no simple genetic information analyzer, as well as basic profiling techniques, so we had to send samples abroad. However, due to the poor preservation of the evidence, it was impossible to properly inspect the evidence, and the leading suspect then goes missing after fleeing, let alone proving his innocence. The film follows the investigation process of these real events, conveying a series of times through cold screens and Mijangsen. The serial killings that take place in the middle of the attack are somewhat different from the actual facts.

The two main characters, Song Kang-ho and Kim Sang-kyung, represent the former-modern detective who relies on superstition and intuition, respectively, and the rational detective based on modern analytical techniques. At the end of the movie, the two people's views are reversed.

With memories of the murder in 2003, the first 10 million movie Silmido, the Legend Classic of the Melo film, the Old Boy of the Cannes Film Festival, the then ruined but gradually re-evaluated Earth as a 'Cursed masterpiece'!
