I saw the devil : Cinema of South Korea

Cinema of South Korea, released in 2010.

a film directed by Kim Jee-woon The movie is about Kim Soo-hyun (Lee Byung-hun), a man who lost his fiancee to serial killer Jang Kyung-chul (Choi Min-sik), trying to carry out cruel revenge with repetition of half-kill, save and kill again, and the two are in a frenzy due to the killer's counterattack that excited him to meet his formidable opponent. The initial setup was for Han Suk-kyu to play the murderer and Choi Min-sik to play the plural.

He was judged to be a restricted movie star twice and was finally able to get a grade of juvenile delinquency on August 11, the day before his release. Therefore, it was released on August 12th without the usual premiere. The reason for the judgment is that the human nature is damaged too much, such as eating human flesh or throwing pieces of human body into a basket. Worst of all is the murder of a pregnant woman in the beginning of the movie. Controversy over the review has flared up again.

If you watch it in person, it's a very painful movie, and even those who watched a horror movie like Descent with popcorn would want to get out. In fact, the audience confirmed that the people who went to the theater after the movie were not shocked at all, but it was different from person to person. The level is not very high compared to the Western slasher movies, but thanks to the fears that crimes in the movie could happen to me due to the killers of Yoo Young-chul, Jung Nam-kyu and Kang Ho-soon, the movie has a good sense of empathy for Lee Byung-hun, as well as the creeps about Choi Min-sik.

The conclusion is not a date movie. If you go to the theater, you will get hurt. Still, the director was Kim Ji-woon, so he took a good picture. In particular, the scene of taxi robbery in the movie that is full of movie is very impressive. Also, the actresses who appear in the movie are not famous actors, but rather, they are more absorbed and are more distressed. Rape the best, rape the worst. That is why what a woman of that age looks at. Critics say it can happen to them, so they are overwhelmed by the sense of helplessness and fear after the show.

It is divided into the reviews of "The Worst Movie of 2010" and "The Best Work of Kim Ji-woon." This is the first problem for director Kim Ji-woon, whose previous film was well-received by most audiences. However, while the common appreciation is that Mijangsen is normal compared to the previous works of director Kim Ji-woon, the sound has been praised this time.

And for some fans of crime thriller movies, the implementation of serial killer characters is flat and simple. It is too flat to embody a psychopathic character that is gravely conscious of the victim’s pain and emotions. The idea is that the public is more of a simple rascal who destroys people and takes their lives recklessly, rather than a detailed psychopathic serial killer’s portrayal by expressing his preconceptions about psychopaths on the screen. Simply because you kill a lot of people and the method is cruel, you don't necessarily become the killer character of a great crime thriller.

However, contrary to this opinion, many people say that Choi Min-sik's performance was a role that would have been considered to be a villain in the history of Korean movies, and that he was real and scary, rather than a character that highlighted the abnormal symptoms of mental illness, a trend of murder, such as a paranoid psychopath or a movie chaser. Choi Min-sik's performance in the movie may be true in the back alley. There's a lot of sense of a dangerous outlaw that really does exist. In fact, there is no need to play a stereotyped psychopath, as Choi Min-sik has never directly defined his character as a psychopath in a movie.

The director said, "I should have expressed it a little harder," and added, "I was very disappointed that I had been cut off."

And the reviews of overseas audiences are overwhelmingly favorable, and are considered to be one of the best revenge-themed films. Considering that the reason for the harsh criticism in Korea in the first place was only because it was so cruel, one can realize the difference between the interpretation of the works of the East and the West.
