It is a bulgogi, galbi and naengmyeon restaurant located in 62-29 (Bogye-dong), Changgyeong-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul. It opened in 1946 and is one of the oldest naengmyeon restaurants in Korea under South Korean restrictions.
The founder of the store is said to be the granddaughter of the Order of Merit Kim Hee-soon, who taught Dosan Ahn Chang-ho. Kim Ji-eum, who has long served as executive director, is not in the store because of his advanced age, but he is a nephew of the founder. The founder or executive director is descended from Bongsan Kim, and before the war, he was from Yongin-ri (currently Chunlima-gun) in Dae-myeon, Daedong-gun, South Pyongan Province.
The meaning of "Uraeok" is used to mean "home that came back" and "house that came back" and "house that wanted to come again," and it was named the first "house that came back" and the other two meanings appear to be attached later.
The meaning of "re-visited house" was originally opened in 1946 under the name "Seobukgwan" at its current location, but was evacuated during the Korean War and closed for a while, and named "Uraeok" meaning "home back to Seoul after fleeing."
It is made up of Korean-style grilled meat, and among them, it is woven around seasoned galbi and bulgogi. However, there are many customers who come to eat only cold noodles. Most menus get good reviews, but the price is definitely the best among Korean restaurants, not hotels. Bulgogi costs 31,000 won for one person, ribs 44,000 won for one person, and naengmyeon 14,000 won for one person. The price has gone up.It is 1,000 won to 2,000 won more expensive than nearby Pyeongyang naengmyeon restaurants (Eulmyeonok, Pil-dong-myeon, etc.).
For your information, the taste of vinegar is different from what young people think of cold noodles. There is also a difference with other Pyongyang naengmyeon restaurants, which do not mix dongchimi soup with broth but only taste with meat. This non-stimulating flavor is said to be the original taste of Pyeongyang naengmyeon. Older adults tend to prefer this side. However, senior citizens in Jeolla and Gyeongsang provinces who have been eating spicy foods are saying that they are bland. As a result, some people may be disappointed when they wait for a long time and eat naengmyeon. This is because it deviates from what is generally thought to be the flavor of naengmyeon, which is not sweet, has less irritating taste, and is soothing to the strong taste of the meat.
